Major acceleration issues
Today I pulled up to a stop light and my car started accelerating out of nowhere, the rpm gauge shot up and I had to press my foot on the break to keep the car from pulling away. I know that on the newer Benz models this happens because people accidentally it a cruise control button or something, but I didn't hit anything so why did it do it? I checked for a vacuum leak and didn't find one.. any help is good help and will be appreciated

Today I was driving on a residential street and I slowed to a stop sign and I felt the car revving and it shot up to 5000 RPM and took off.. I had to slam on the brakes to stop the car. Something is SERIOUSLY wrong! My 300e is becoming a death trap.

Then bring it to a shop or the dealership and STOP driving it in public where you can hurt someone.

The throttle is mechanical as well, so check from the pedal all the way to the throttle body to see if anything is binding or otherwise amiss.
And again, stop driving the ****ing thing until you can trust it. If you can't figure it out, get an indie. If you can't find an indie, suck it up and go to the dealership.

Check all linkages ...
I had this and it was the throttle linkage sticking. The little ball/sockets need to be lubricated.
Some people think it's very clever to steam clean under the bonnet/hood and make things look new. It isn't!
Harsh cleaning can remove protective waxes and lubricants and this reduces the life of the car. I put a stop to ANY high pressure cleaning. I do sometimes brush on some engine cleaner and then hose it of at LOW PRESSURE.
Make sure that your throttle linkage is moving freely - check from peddle through to butterfly. Prise off the sockets and lubricate with grease. Try to lubricate the cable. Make sure that cruise control, auto box etc. cables cannot interfere with the action of the return spring. Make sure you HAVE a return spring.
Should help.
Good luck.
