Suspension downgrade

Hello everyone,

Thanks to advices in this forum I've just bought a very good condition 1991 300TE 24v sportline with self levelling suspension.

Sportline suspension is far too harsh for me.

1. Any sugestions on what do I have to say to my garage to downgrade the sportline suspension?

2. Will NON sportline original springs and shocks improve the comfort?

Thanks again for any suggestions.

wow cant believe you want to get rid of the sportline suspension. But yea removing sportline and putting in original suspension would help ride comfort.

Thanks Soldsep ,

Is Bilstein shock (not the sport) softer then the stock?
Do I need to change the spring as well ?

The early sportline setup was very harsh. Changing the springs and shocks will definitely smooth out the ride.
Try http://www.eurocarparts.com or http://www.gsfcarparts.com for new or http://www.mercedesparts.co.uk for used.
I have used all three of these companies in the past.
You can probably sell on your old sportline parts.
The standard setup does not feel as solid at speed but, each to their own..

Question

So..... Do I need to change to a new sportline spring & shocks or to a non sportline?

"The early sportline setup was very harsh." Do the later sportlines has less harsh spring+shocks?

The later sportline springs will not fit your car (I think because the 320 engine is heavier).
Personally I'd buy the standard springs from a breaker and new standard shocks from Eurocarparts.
