A/C fan is on and off time to time
Hi, All
I have a 94' E420. The A/C fan is on and off time to time. I checked the blower and blower regulator. They are fine. I also checked climate control unit. It is fine also. Is there a sensor switch in between? Or what can be wrong? I need help. Thanks

What you say the AC fan, do you mean the one in front of the car? If so, this is only meant to come on when needed, which is either when the coolant temperature is too high, or when the AC is on, and the pressure is too high

scroll cage fan
I mean A/C fan is that the scroll cage fan under the window wiper. Which blows out either cool or hot air on high or low or auto setting.
It is not working at all.

Replace the fuse, its probably cracked, can't tell till you try to take it out. Its a 30A strip fuse in a little plastic box right infront of the main fuse box. Need a phillips head screwdriver to replace it.

Quicksilver500,
You are absolutely genius. I found the fuse, there is a crack.
I jumped with a wire. The fan turns. The type of the fuse is not that common to me. Where can I get a replacement, Any auto store? Thanks for your help.

I just go to the dealer they will usually do fuses for free and you have done half the work for them. Strip fuses are about 1930's tech so most autoparts stores don't have them.
Don't sweat it, easy fix, I have owned 2 300E's, 2 500E's, and a coupe so you learn little things after that many w124s haha. Believe me, took a while to figure it out the first time, and I think some old guy probably told me they crack and you can't tell till you take them out.
