Racing Seats....

Thinking of ordering some racing seats for my wagon.... I spend some time on the track, so they would not be installed poseur status...

Thoughts.....?

The Recaro Ideal/Classic C is period correct for these cars and will hold you in place through the corners. They're more or less the same weight as the OEM seats though so if you wanted weight reduction at the same time you'll probably have to search for a carbon bucket seat that 'looks right' in the W124.

Did a set in my cabrio. Match up the coverings and most things will look right.

A standard race bucket wills save you alot of weight. My Recaro's are heavy!

I have a Schroth 4 point harness for the W124 if you're interested. It attaches over and to the rear seat belt receiver to electrically adjust / tighten.

Wow...
I was just about to say how out of place they would look in a 124, but then I saw your picture.
More please?

Though, a cabrio and a station wagon are two different things...

Joe, do you know the model and weight of those seats? They look great in the matched leather.

Yeah, but one of them stereotypically is used to take the kids to soccer practice with the dog in the back, and the other one is driven on a twisty mountain road with the roof down

Stereotypically that is....

Sorry I really don't have much in the way of pictures of the seats. I'll have another look tonight and see if I can find some.

Brandon, I purchased them at one of the car shows 5-6 years ago. They are branded as Yonaka Motorsports. I'll send you the website of the imported/retailer when I remember it. They are located in Ottawa. I like the seats. They're Japanese made. Comfortable and they've been holding up well. Makes cornering a lot more fun. The only gripe I have about them is they don't have the quick release latch for getting people in the back seat. Sometimes that's a good thing!

Bah! Stereotypes.... Those are no fun!

In all seriousness, I think I push my TE harder than about 95% of W124 drivers!

If I was to do it again I would do this style of seat. I had to go with the style I have so my waist would fit comfortably.
This other style of seat I think would look more suited for a w124. I think I have a picture of one in a Evo2 rep.
