87 300d, 95 e320 wagon
w124 wagon rear latch....fix?
Is it possible to fix the auto close portion of the rear latch on the late wagons? I took it apart last night...motor fried? thanks love this site!

Mine didn't work so I replaced it with a used latch. The replacement works so I didn't look into why the original latch did not. I believe it's a solenoid so you can apply 12V and see if it works. The auto latch really makes a difference in the ease of releasing to lift the hatch.
