1987 Mercedes 300D Turbo
Srs Replacement: 6/1997
In the glovebox of my 87 300D, it tells me to replace the SRS in June 1997, is this really necessary? I also don't know this replacement has been done. Is there a way to verify it? Thanks in advance

I think it really depends on whether your happy with the possibility that either your air-bag or seat tensioners might not work.
My SRS light occasionly flickers on but I'm not too worried as my other cars don't even have air-bags or seat tensioners (my 220SEb doesn't even have seat belts! ) and besides I'ld rather have an accident in a W124 with no SRS system than in say a Vauxhall Nova with.

Ask your contact at the dealer to run a VMI, that should provide you with information as to whether the airbag has been replaced already.
Hope this helps
