Can you drive a W124 without an instrument cluster?

I am having the speedometer calibrated so it will be accurate with my new 2.82 rear end. I plan to pull the entire instrument cluster out for shipping.

My question is whether or not I can drive the car without an instrument cluster? Aside from risk of driving without gauges, are there any other risks?
