Surging Engine

Hello,
I have a 1994 E420 with a surging problem.
It does it several times per week. Does it in both drive and reverse. Anyone have any ideas? Really wanna get it taken care of quickly.

Thanks,
Allan

I had the same problem. The car wants to lurch forward/backward when you're not on the accelerator? Ask your mechanic to check out the overload module (it's an elecrtonic gizmo that regulates the level of electronic at a given time - or something like that).

Also, my new mechanic (who's been right on - cured an over-a-year old problem my 10-year mechanic could NOT solve) said the wire harness on the V8s tend to break down and crack which causes a multitude of problems.

Hope that helps....

That's what I was told too. I had my engine wire harness replaced today for $700.00...ouch
