Did the cable break free from the handle in the car, or from the mechanism on the hood? Could have gotten worn/frayed.

Thanks...it broke under the hood, the handle in the car is connected. However, I cannot pull the cable thru from inside the car.

Ah, afraid I can't help you there. I've never done this job. A quick search hasn't yielded anything too helpful either. Sorry

Broken Cable

You may have to sacrifice the grill and the little black plastic piece that covers the latch and cable on your hood. If you are willing to do that you can access any remaining cable on the latch and pull it open. The plastic piece of the grill is relatively cheap at about $18 and easily replaced. The plastic piece covering the latch can be popped out with a screwdriver and then reused if you are careful.

Good luck and let me know if you need pics, I have my 300CE in the garage now for major work and I have the grill off replacing the plastic piece and eliminating rust.
