I have a chance to get an 88 300TE

But I need advice asap.

It's a 1988. It has 220,000 miles. It has a third row, but do they all have one? Oh, and it looks like the dealership doesn't know about the third row. Lol.

Interior and body are both in very good condition. Just some minor stuff.

The car took a few turns to get off, the guy was BSing (i think) that it's because it was sitting for a while, so he brought the battery charger over and hooked it up. When it turned on the ABS light was on, so I'm hoping it's the famous $20 cold start fix that these cars have. The guy said the car needs a new distributor cap and a new rotor.

How much is the car worth? I'd do research but I'm nowhere near a pc and I want to try to finish this today if possible.

Thanks guys.

As you described it it's worth $400 easy. (smirk) Without that third row, $350. (Kidding, they do not all have them but are easy to find)

Without a ppi, you may as well buy a lottery ticket. (if it mostly passed a ppi, worth up to $1200-$1800, and you'll likely need to set aside some added bucs to straighten ot these "easy fixes" which rarely are)

And for me, when I buy a car, if I get ANY sense of BS from the seller, there is NO chance I buy. And I ask loads of similar questions looking for loopholes in their story.

Why do u think that used car dalesman have such bad reps? (not always true).
They try to sell junk to people who think they are getting a good deal.
The car has many miles. The seller is BSing u,
And the car comes with a check light on (ABS).
Money pit in my opinion.
Suspension and steering will likely need to be redone.
Mechanical stuff will show up as well, and let's not forget the preexisting electrical.
A more expensive, better taken care example will be cheaper all around.
Run away!!!!
