1987 260E Heater problems!

Has anyone had this happen? My heater stop working all to gether like somone pulled the fuse out, no power to the controls, buttons, fan, nothing. The car will warm up and then a """Click""" sound under the dash will happen about 5 times then the heater may or may not come on. When it does come on, it works great, no problems. All fuses are good! Blower motor good! Core gets hot! I;m at a lose!!!! Please help?

If the fan is not pushing air - look at fuse #5 - going from memory - check the legend in your fuse box.

Ceramic fuses are funny - they may look ok and not be ok.

Thanks, I have done all I can to this car! I replaced the blower motor, the climate control regulator, the vacuum bar under the dash next to the glove box and all the fuses. Is there a relay that activates the system. It's like the HVAC is not turning on. No power. I even replaced the thermostat thinking it was not warming up. I checked the blower motor fuse next to the driver side shock tower. Is there somthing under the dash that kicks everything on. The defrost and nothing will work!

There is no power to the vacuum bar or dash controls but there is 12V to the climate control on the red wire and nothing to the others.

There is a white ceramic ballast under the driver side headlight and that has no power in or out.

Please, any thoughts would be great! Thanks!
