1995 E-320 ASR HELP

1995 E-320 ASR HELP
My E-320 has a problem with the ASR system.
1. Drops to limp home mode upon starting.
2.Drops in to limp home when driving
3. When in limp home if revered up the ABS light blinks, car is not in motion.
4.Weather and temp has no effect.
light come on at speed and when stopped.
So it stops running when ever it wants. Any ideas as to cause ?
need help as my other E-320 is in body thanks to a drunk drive.

Is your CEL on? Have you checked for codes? I had some ASR issues a few years ago on my 400E. I pulled the ASR control unit, cleaned all the contacts and reinserted it. Hasn't been an issue since. Not saying this is your problem, but it's a cheap easy place to start. Might want to swap out a known good ASR control unit to see if that's bad. Could be wiring harness related as well.
