A/C fans W124 260E

Hi guys, today I need some information. The A/C fans in front of the condensor giving me headache. One fan runs activated by a pressure switch as it supposed to do. But the second fan does not. I tried to find out whether there is a second threshold for the 2nd fan, could find leads therefore.
Maybe the two fans a just connencted in parallel. Who knows it, since my circuit diagrams dont show this (they show an older version with one 2-speed fan )???
Secondly I was seeking the wiring for those fans and could not find any. Does anyone know where they were hiding these???? Atleast I could check the fan whether or not it's shot.

I had this symptom

And it turned out to be rotted leaves and stuff around the ring that was stalling the fan.

I cleaned all the baked on leaf muck off the ring with a sharp knife and the fan was OK again.

I don´t know if this information can help you.

In my car -1987 260E- I have only one fan with two speeds:

First speed is activated by the dual function pressure switch in the receiver drier, and second speed is activated by the 105/115°C temperature switch at an engine coolant temperature.
Both speeds are activated by two relais located at a box close to the fuse box.

thanks,
this is exactly the problem, since MB changed the design to 2 fans working most probably just in parallel, since the second relay is also not existent (in your case for the resistor)

All of them!
the two cars you have operate differently. the dual fans are parralel so if one doesnt operate at the same speed suspect it or the wiring. you will find a two pole blue switch on the later car that if you simply unplug w. the key on will run the fans at high speed and also stop a/c operation at the same time. do not bridge or ground this switch. it goes to the a/c/c control unit and is a ntc sensor. it you need to temporarily bypass us a 340 ohms resistance. this is not the same on earlier cars. the low speed can be checked by jumping the a/c switch on the drier assembly on all cars. (green or red switch with pigtail lead.) if you freon charge is too low it won't close this switch.
