1988 300e sputters when i accelerate
i just bought it lastnight and when i test drove it.it was running perfect when i got on the freeway after a minuter i noticed the car was sputtering?and stated to do it more and more.the car doesnt die but it feels like it wants too.i did some research and i was reading simular problems that says its the ovp relay? is this true can anybody please help.and i noticed too that when i pulled it over on the freeway and opened the door it seems like the car was sputtering and the inside dome lights were going crazy and my fuel light came on alittle before that.and the abs light is on.the cars seems to start fine and idol ok but when i give it alittle gas its fine its when i give it gas to go it sputters till i get up to speed.

ok i will check and try to replace those today...thanks but iam thinkg its a fuel problem? the engine revs fine in park and sounds strong but when i put into park and hit the gas it goes for a second then sputters? but like i said if i drive slow just barley give it gas it barley stutters but then i push the pedel doon to go and it spotters up to speed?

i figured it out it was one spark plug clogged with old dried up oil.it couldnt get enough spark.so this turned out to be a good deal the guy sold it cheap thinking it was broke and it was a 3 dollor fix.eventhough i spen 50 on a new ovp that helped the abs light.thank mb forum and for the help
