93 300e Transmission Question

i changed my mind about selling my car so i was on the hunt for a transmission as mine was going out. i found one that is off of a 2.3 190e. i have the 93 3.2 300e. ive tried to find the info if they would be interchangeable but found no final answer. so question is, will the transmission of the 2.3 190e be a direct bolt on to my 3.2 300e?

2006 C55 AMG 6 speed
If I recall correctly, the 190E 2.5/2.6 trannies fit. I don't know about the 2.3. If it's a 6 cylinder, it should, but I'm not sure.

Besides, if you've got the 93 300E, it means M104, which means 5 speed auto. That means if you want to throw the auto 4 speed in, you're gonna have to change your ICU (ignition control module, located on left fender inside the hood).

According to my mechanic, the 5 speeds on those engines are temperamental, and my own 5 speed crapped out on me which pushed me to do the manual swap.

In my opinion, go to a junkyard and buy the normal 5 speed that came with it. Or buy a parts car with a running tranny and extract it. There's actually a post in this forum about a 300TE for 500$, and if the guy doesn't want it, look it up. It might be an M104, so the tranny will fit.

Cheers, Shoomakan

im assuming its from the 4 cyl. yeah its hard to find a good lower mileage tranny from the engine model i have. so i guess ill keep searching till i find one. i called a nearby wrecking yard that speacialize in bmw and mercedes, and they are telling me that the 3.2 engines in 93-95 300e and e320 are all 4 speed.

ok so i bought a transmission which i was told came out of a 300e. i didnt check the transmission number but its a w201 xxx xxx xxx which is off a 190e. the mounting locations seem the same and it seems that i could make it fit. but, my connections for the throttle cable is different and so is the whole deal that shifts the gears. i have the w201 parts on there but im wondering if i put this tranny in without connecting the 2 pin sensor, located by the throttle link side, will it not run correctly?
will it not work at all?
somebody give me some info please.
