88 CE300 Becker Grand Pix has to go ---

Okay guys I am on the home stretch buying this thing and it looks better every day except.............................
damn it has the original cassette player in it a Becker Grand Prix 870 YUCK !
My tapes are still in the cupboard spreading metal oxide into the drawer.

This is first thing HAS to be changed !
So my questions are
(1) What suggestions and how easy is it to change ?
(2) Would a late model Command Unit fit (quite a few second hand around)
(3) DVD would be nice, I think GEOSS has a JVC 1-Din size in his car but not sure of that screen size
(4) Nav would be ultra nice but thinking too hard to hook it up without lots of changes to bits and pieces.
Over to you fellow MB nuts !!!!!

Nearly everyone has changed out their Beckers - first thing to go.

There are plenty of threads on the subject of audio.
You just need to use the search function.

You will need to bypass the Fader control
In the console.

Nav will fit, but it's tight. You may find that the airbag module is in the way.

I have seen pictures of Command mounted in our cars, but aftermarket is likely cheaper, better, and easier to install.

Google 2phast's site, for mods. 2phast motors.

I'd say if you can afford it, go for a newer Becker. That is my eventual plan to replace my somewhat touchy Becker CD.
