Car needs ignition control module!

Recently posted that my 500 was idling rough, misfiring, and not running right. Finally had the time to take it to the mechanic last night for drop off, he called me today and said "Paul are you sitting down right now" . He stated my car needs an ICM @ $3,600 msrp... Said my car will not spark and went dead in the shop, so lucky I made it out there on that last crank. I was willing to pay for the part but thought to check Autohauz and a few others prior to giving him the go ahead, no luck. Found a used one off eBay for $340!! Part is said to be in perfect working order and comes w/ warranty, gotta love eBay! Do these typically go bad? Car only has 59k on it. Why is this part pricey, is there gold inside that little black box and know its made by Siemens.

Your title is "ignition control module", but your mechanic indicates idle control valve ( ICV )ICV is under $400.00 new.
The $3600 MSRP price he quoted you is for the M119 EZL.
If you truly need an EZL , then the ICV will not resolve your problems

My mistake, meant to say ignition control module. New one is being installed right now, so I hope to have it back soon and running like a 500 again!.

Not a problem...hate to see you not getting the correct part regardless of cost.
The module should clear up your problems !

Good luck
