'89 300TE stereo system sounds like crap
"First post here, so bear with me. I recently turned 16 and got my license and my parents bought me an '89 300TE. I love the thing, it's glorious. Only problem is the thing sounds like crap. I'm running my MP3 player through a cassette adapter in the stock system. I've done this with other cars, and never had a problem, it always came through pretty nicely. I listen to dubstep and heavy metal, and it always sounded nice through my family's newer car. I know it's not the cassette or my MP3 player, but I can't tell if it's the actual stereo, or if the speakers are blown. I really miss being able to crank my music, and I'd love some cheap and easy help. My birthday is coming up and my parents want to buy me new speakers, but I figured I should figure out the problem first, then figure out what I need to fix said problem. I don't want to replace the stereo unless I have to, I don't mind the cassette/MP3 set up, and I never use CDs. Plus it looks like it belongs to the car. And if I need to replace my speakers, how can I do that? I can't find any screws on the mesh covers. I basically need a total walkthrough and I would GREATLY appreciate it. I figure you guys already know exactly what the inside of my car looks like, but I figure might as well post pics just in case mine is weird or different for some reason.

(the first 7 are of the car, the other ones in there are of my yoyos and Portland trip, ignore them haha)
Oh yeah, I also want to get a bumper sticker that says "The Frau" or something like that for my Benz, any idea where to get one? Or is that kind of a dumb thing to do?
Thank you in advance!
"So basically I want to know if I absolutely have to replace the head unit (too low of power?), or if I can get a way with some Walmart style speakers. I don't care much about sound quality, I just want it to be able to handle my bass a bit more, I hate the blown speaker sound. And I need it to be as cheap as possible.
