300E no start when warm please help!
Hello all! Ok i have aquired a 1991 300E 2.6 with around 272K miles. I bought it not running with the intentions of fixing. Today i finally decided to start tinkering with it and i am a bit baffled.. What its doing is it will start almost as normal when its cold and will run for a while. well i shut it off and can't get it to start again. I know there is spark and has to be fuel because the fuel pump does run. Im thinking maybe it has too much fuel maybe because it will not start with starting fluid either.. Also when it is cold it ran ok but did miss when you got on the gas pedal.. I have heard the crank sensor could maybe be the culprit but would like to see if anyone had a remedy to this problem before i go replacing parts.. I do beleive it is a heat related issue as it starts fine when cold.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank You! Eric

how long did it sit?
You may have gas with crud in it, but I think the fuel filter or the fuel pressure regulator needs to be changed out, maybe (I would) do both. I just changed out my E320 fuel filter and it starts much easier when hot.
autohauzaz is great for parts (I have started using them on a regular basis), and they ship quickly - even to Minnesota.
