Hallo
Denmark calling.....
I am in the middel of a engine swap -on my 500E (1992) M119
I have purchased a engine from a 500SL, 129 model (1992) M119
I know i will have to move the injection - and some others parts.
But i have a problem with the engine mount, there a not the same. And the SL engine have 4 hole i the engine blok, where the 124 engine have 6 hole for mouting the engine mount. Also there are different sizes, length!
Is there someone that know what i am gonna do?![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

In the U.S. a 92 500SL is still a CIS motor (last year), a 500E is an LH motor. In spite of being the same year and both 119 motors they are very different - different fuel injection systems, different engine management systems, and different diagnostic systems. The engine mounting problems would only be scratching the surface of the problems to come.

Kar mann, unless the Euro version is different than what was distributed in the US 500sl motor M119, this may not be possible (or at least cost effective) due to the engine electronics viariances.

Those guys wouldn't have any answers whatsoever on this question. Anything is possible but a CIS to LH conversion would be the equivalent of a spine transplant on a human - tedious and risky.

You are quite right that it is extremely tedious, expensive, and not worth changing CIS to LH.
However, that site discusses 500E matters, including the viable options for 500E-specific engine swaps, and donor engines. He is far more likely to get pertinent, detailed, 500E information, positive encouragement and advice from very knowledgeable 500E owners who have a great deal of hands-on experience.
Additionally, connecting with a global network of 500E enthusiasts will enhance his enjoyment of the ultimate MB factory version of the W124.
