I have started experiencing problems turning the key in the ignition of my 1989 300CE. So I purchased a new tumbler with keys and downloaded the instructions for removing the old tumbler. Unfortunately, I was unable to remove the tumbler, and so far my mechanic has not been able to get it out either. Can anyone tell me if there is some trick to getting it out other than to use the required tool? I read in the forums that a wire clothes hanger can be used for that purpose, but it hasn't worked for me.
