This pretty much depends on your driving (resp. braking) habbits. There is no time to qualify the life rather than how heavy the brakes are used. Guess you are talking about the front pads only the rear last longer.

In my expereince the 300E is a heavy car (close to four thousand pounds on my TE), and the brake pads have one thing in mind, and that's stopping all that weight. A non-goal for the pad designer was reducing wear and brake dust. So yeah, the E class will burn through pads faster than most cars. One other thing I've noticed is that I have never gotten away from bake vibration, it seems no matter how many times I've relaced the roters, I still get a slight pulsation as the car slows to a stop.

I totally agree...the OE front pad does the job, but doesn't cut it on wear and dust.

I'm real happy with EBC greens (for front of W124 on a cryo-treated Ate rotor)...great intial bite, low dust, and decent for a light track day or two, ...super for the street. EBC is supposedly going to make greens for the rears soon.
