Needs advise before purchasing 1992 300TE 4matic
I am new to the site.
I am considering purchasing a 92 300te 4matic with about 150,000 miles. While checking the car I found a few issues.
1) Oil in the antifreeze- blown head gasket I assume.
2) 4matic light comes on upon engine startup, it would go away after driving the car but would be replaced by the abs light.
3) AC compressor does not engage when the ac is turned on.
4) Cracked front windshield.
5) Sunroof opens slow.
6) Small exhaust leak.
7) Broken power antenna.
8) Missing the front fender well covers- both sides.
9) Missing interior trim pieces.
10) Rubber between the side view mirrors and door has shrunken.
The owner is asking a $1000.
About how much would it cost to resolve these issues?
Is it worth purchasing this car for that price?
Would it make sense to just replace the engine as oppose to replacing the head gasket. I have seen engines in junk yards near me selling for about $350- $450.
