Lowering the car in the morning....
And not using a spring compressor. I was going to lower the the control arm down on a cinder block, take out the two control arm bolts, the. Slowly lift the car back up with my jack. Remove spring and put new one in. Lower back down and rebolt.
Am I missing anything?

It can be done that way, but the only advice anyone can give you is the be very careful and wish you good luck. Mercedes springs are under a LOT of pressure, even when the control arm is at max extension. Taking the bolts out under full compression sounds like a potential disaster. You're getting into something very dangerous here. Where are you located? I could rent you my compressor if you're in southern California.
Edit: Never mind, I found another post where I offered to lend you my compressor, but you are out of state so maybe that's why you didn't reply. haha. Either way, good luck man, and post up some pictures when you're done! That is, if you still have all your limbs!

Congrats! I did it like that when I first got my 300E, but after reading so many horror stories on here afterwards I decided I must have just been lucky and just bought a compressor.
Pics would be cool!
