Rear View mirror w/ home link & compass

Just posting some free advertisement...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...5#ht_500wt_977

Just received and installed Rick's (2phast) rear view mirror w/ homelink & compass.

Easy install.

Took me about 20 minutes.

Direct replacement of my factory installed mirror.

$$ for $$ its by far the best mod i've done on this car....

Agreed, I absolutely love it on my coupe. Puts my mirror in direct competition against mirror setups from 2000+ cars

Love mine too. Every other w124 driver that has been in my car has noticed even without me pointing it out and has been very envious

Do it man! It really is one of the most sensible and functional upgrades available for our cars. And as an added bonus, you're supporting one of the forum members when you buy from Rik

Does anyone know if this is this available in other colors (like parchment)?

Thanks.

It may be possible Flooby, but I don't think any of the w124s had different mirror/accessory colors other than black.

Thanks for the reply. I have a Cabrio and it has a trim (parchment) colored mirror assembly. Given what you said about all other W124 mirrors being black, I suspect my mirror, like many parts on my car, is unique to the Cabrio.

Maybe, or perhaps it was something introduced on the facelift cars? My pre-facelift mirror is black, but my interior is Mushroom Brown.

Since Scott did contact me already, I won't go into a long story, but the short of it is the W124 cabriolet uses a totally different mirror (than the W124 couple/sedan). Actually the mirror is from a R129 and it is a "top mount" versus a "rear mount" type of mirror like the other W124's use.

Currently I can provide auto dimming mirrors for the W124/W201/W123/W126/R107. You can normally chose between;

1. Auto dimming with Homelink and compass
2. Auto dimming with Homelink no compass
3. Auto dimming with compass no Homelink
4. Auto dimming only.
5. Auto dimming with Homelink and on/off (for auto dimming)
6. Auto dimming only with on/off (for auto dimming)

Choices depends upon what I have in stock and/or is available on the market at a reasonable cost.

More info at www.2phast.com/mirror

I believe DaveM has at least three and GerryV has a couple also

There isn't much "wiggle" room, as I have these already at "rock bottom" but we could work out something for a multiple unit order.

2phast, I enjoy seeing your meticulously finished products, great stuff! Would you, by any chance, be able to integrate a subtle alarm blinker or a driver side map lamp?

Funny you should ask. The mirror in my 500e integrates a red LED alarm blinker on the bottom of the mirror. It is integrated into the dash mounted LED, so the two blink in unison.

I have a couple of auto dimming only mirrors with the alarm LED in stock.

As for map lights, have not gone down that route. Thought about it, but there has not been much interest. Wouldn't be feasible on mirrors with Homelink and compass (no room inside) but it might be a possibility on the bare bones auto dimming mirror.

I was just thinking how my early 300e doesn't have a blinky light and it might be a neat addition onto the factory alarm.

Can't say I have ever seen a W124 with a factory security system without a factory blinking LED, so I am not sure how you would integrate this into your factory alarm.

Well anyway I do have these if you are interested. I could also retrofit the LED into a Homelink/Compass mirror (have a couple of extra) for an additional charge.

I have an early 2Phast CLK-based auto-dim & Homelink mirror.
Excellent quality, MB OEM, looks sleek and as if it "belongs" there. I am very happy.

And I will second that motion.

Rik extremely helpful when I had couple issues fitting mine (which turned out to be me more than it was anything else).

It's great not having to click the mirror at night when some boofhead with ultra bright halogens in an SUV comes up behind me and burns the crap out of my eyeballs.

Great quality, looks good and very functional. Best Mod I have invested in !

With several months of usage behind me...I am signing on here.

These are a great upgrade, well worth the cost. You don't even notice the auto dimming at night, that alone is a huge improvement from stock!

I am now changing the compass color from blue to amber. So any future purchases of compass integrated mirrors will include this upgrade.

Also have added this new design to my model line up. No Homelink on this model, but it does include a integrated switch to turn the auto dimming on/off and to turn the compass on/off or any combination of the two options. Compass variance zone and calibration are also set using the same single button. The alarm LED is optional and is something I add. In my 500E, it is integrated with the factory security system so the dash LED and this one blink in unison.

I have one of these mirrors in transit to me. After that, I can't promise any will be available, as they are very, very difficult to find

If all you want is a amber compass, you can send me your mirror and PayPal me $7 (for return shipping) and I will change your compass color from blue to amber.
