Gas filler door problem
Cant open the gas filler door. Anybody know the part number for the vaccum unit that controls the operation of the gas filler door?

i replaced mine about a year ago, sorry i don't know part number...

it seems to me it was about $55.00-60.00 range.
have you found the emergency pull handle?

got it open
yea I lifted the locking pin with a plier and looped the vaccum hose disabling the device. I am probably getting rid of the car soon by donating it or something so it might not even be worth fixing.

I went to garden city with the 300te today, and basically had less than a quarter of the tank left.
I go to fill up and pull the red knob behind the boot as usual, yet there is no vaccum pressure. Tried to pry the door open too. Didnt work.
I drove about 30 miles home on a reserve tank in heavy traffic. I watched that economy needle like a hawk! Thankfully, I made it to my driveway where I realized you could lift the pin! So now the gas tank is basically open all the time until I replace the part.
Basically, the car just needs so much work to make it usuable as anything but my work car that i just throw stuff in that it might just pay to donate it for the tax deduction. Its a rare color blue, the engine is very well maintained but the tranny is on its last leg. Has about 188000 miles. I just dont have the time or patience to fix it.
