Late model brakes on W124??
I searched but couldn't find anything that really filled in all the holes. Has anyone done w210/w208 AMG brake install on their w124? I know there have been some w211 AMG setups done and these may require some spacers or new brackets. I hear tell that R171 AMG calipers are bolt up with maybe a W220 rotor but nothing confirmed.
Are there anymore details out there?
This would be mostly 500E related

The easiest and cheapest setup is the r129 4 piston calipers in the frt. The late model ones. They are a direct bolt up with the same rotors. I have c32/c55 calipers and rotors/4piston and had to put a different rear piston body on and use two washers to space the caliper. I would not do this except that I needed the room for my wheels. I have heard that the 171/209 6 pistons fit with little to no modification. The 4 piston rears fit also with some trimming on the backing plate.

This trimming, what does this mean?
I've been trying to watch out for better brake setups. For the r171, are you referring to the AMG SLK or just any of them?
I'm not clear on rotor size but I guess 6/4 is way better than my 4/2 setup no matter rotor diameter

Can you just use R171 rotors? Everything center up? I thought I remembered from somewhere else you need S600 rear rotors or something I can't remember....

with all due respect to others on hear, the sl 600 r 129 four pots with 345mm disks and the related rears are indeed a straight fit, but they are rare as hell.
the slk six pots and associated rears are available new, and are also a straight fit, and are, in my opinion, at least one step forward from the sl 600 ones
as for fitting, i am sure it is a case of using the slk disks as well.
there is a thread on peach parts with a link to a 190 fourum (not the rev) where a guy fitted them to his 190.

The front discs are vaned 334mm. I believe that is size mentioned in the "swap thread". I don't know about thicknesses though. I wonder if the part numbers are the same. This would be a nice upgrade if I could just swap calipers!

Don't know if it's confirmed, but I ran into a guy selling an E36 W124 coupe that had E55 brakes on it.
I wish I took his number for you.

I have the Silver Arrow discs and calipers on the rear. They are the same parts, 300mm discs, a little larger than stock 500E's. I believe the SLK DISCS A
are 300mm also, however, it's the thickness that is important too.
I'm sure I can cross-reference the numbers on the EPC

211 s55 rear brake disk defiantly fit the 124, i have them on mine, along with modded s55amg 211 four pot calipers. the disks have exactly the same offset, and the same handbrake shoe dimensions. the e55 ones have a bigger handbrake shoe, so dont fit
i have seen the e55 four pots fitted to the front of a 202 or 203, cant remember which it was,(these both have the same spacing for the retaining bolts as a 124, but they were fitted leading, not trailing. I havent got the technical info on how, i assume they are a straight fit, the thread was on mbuk site.
there is also the 315mm disk w210 e280 four pots that can be fitted straight on, i had these on mine a few years ago, just needed a banjo fitment flexi hose, i have a set of these calipers and brand new new disks in this configuration for sale.
i recall seeing on the e500 spot forum that the e55 rear calipers only require 3mm washers to adjust centering, ie the hole centers are the same as on the 201, 124, 129, 202, 203 107.
171 front calipers and 245mm disk fit exactly, but require a 2.5mm washer to correct centering, and a bit of machining on the casting for the attachment of the line union. the rear calipers and 330mm disks fit with no mods.
afaik, the s55 rear disk and slk 171 rear disk are the same, apart from the drilling pattern
