It's a 1990 model - the data card shows production code 800, the last number of which is the last number of the model year.

I had a look at that datacard - couldn't see any production code field ?
Where did you see that - trying to investigate mine also !

Enter the VIN, click on box just to the right, click on data card in the upper right, scroll down to the code list at the bottom, third code from the bottom is 800 which designates model year in the last digit.

Perhaps I'm doing this wrong, but I see no Datacard box. When I enter my VIN and hit the button, I go to a parts catalogue only.

The color scheme using grey text makes it hard !
What I don't get though is mine says : 800 AEJ 06/1/M/X
So what does that mean ?

See post #2 above. Codes 800 to 809 indicate the model year in the last digit.
