95 E320 Ignition Part Identification - Please Help!
I'm in the process of changing out the ignition switch in my 1995 E320 wagon and have run into some trouble after taking everything apart.
The ignition switch currently in my wagon has a plastic T-shaped piece in the center, but all of the replacement ignition switches I've found are missing that plastic T-shaped piece and only have a metal slot in the middle. Below are images of the difference I'm describing.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
What my ignition switch looks like:

What all the replacement ignition switches look like:

Is the plastic T-handle piece removable if you pull on it? Perhaps it is one of those things that needs to be transferred to the replacement part.
Edit: I checked the EPC and noted the two parts that interface to the actual ignition switch. They are a washer (17), part 124 462 14 75, and the parking pawl (8), part 124 460 01 75. I also noted the the original switch (11) , part 124 462 03 93 has been superseded by 202 545 01 04. It may be the newer switch has the slot instead of the T-handle piece and so requires the change out of one or both of the above.

I am dealing with the very same issue. How did you resolve it? I don't think the center comes off.
The pawl is a different part
