Headlight switch no longer illuminates?
Greetings friends,
When I used to turn the lights on in my E420 the little white light insignias for the head lights on either side of the switch used to light up now it's just all dark, unless I pull the switch, for the fog lights, then the only thing that lights up is the orange dot in the center of the switch. Are there little bulbs that can be swapped out, like in the vents and climate control unit? If so how do you access them? Or do I need a whole new switch assembly?

Yep but pain in the *** to get to them !
Have to pull the panel off !
It is held in by the retaining nut on the headlight switch as well as screws and is clipped in to other panels around it.
But worth the effort in the end. Might think about replacing them with LED's to save doing the excercise again.

Thanks Stormtigers...I'm slowly but surely getting around to replacing all these stupid little lights. It sounds like a pain to do these lights too, but nothing compares to removing the center vent to switch out that little PITA light. Now that was a trip!

Yeah haven't ventured onto that one yet !
Side vents were easy in comparison.
I've just done all the lower cluster lights with replacement B8.5D colored leds.
Some of them are as tight as a rusted nut on a thread bolt !

Ok well check this out, I just went out in the snow to go get some cigarettes and I turned on the lights and now the little *******s works? All but when you turn the switch to the left for either left side or right side parking lights, is it supposed to light up then?
