Question '94 E320 Brakes . HELP!

My OEM brake pads on the front last on average 12-15K miles. The rims are always black from the brake dust. Are there any decently priced pads there that would either last longer or would't dust so much?

Hey this is life. Braking means grinding down the pads. The quicker the more dust in a shorter time settles on the rims and elsewhere. Drive more decent, the last longer and the dust per time is less. That's the only advise I have in your case. By the way my OEM-pads last at least 25kmls+

Try EBC green pads, TireRack sells them as do others. They only make fronts for W124s but are great feeling and low dust.

If the dust is really bothering you get some Kleen Wheels. Kleen Wheels are dust shields which protect your wheels from brake dust. They cost about $35 on many websites. Installation is simple, but the wheels do have to be removed to put the dust shields on.

Jim has the right idea. Power ATE rotors and EBC Greenstuff pads on my car last 30K+ . My little pressure washer at home cleans the wheels with just car wash soap. Always wondered what ventilated rotors would do for the W124.

Klean wheels

Brian:
I had those "Klean Wheels" on my car for a while. They are BAD. My wheels were clean, but my rotors got worped. I Turned them once, but they went bad again in about 5K miles. I ended up replacing front rotors and throwing away those stupid "Klean Wheels"
