Just today, for the first time ever, I noticed a putrid burning smell inside my car. I have no idea where it is or what it is. It burned my eyes it was so intense. I don't really see anything in the way of smoke and I don't think it's coming from under the hood. Any ideas on what is going on here?

 

Had this happen to me earlier this week. It came in conjunction with my wiper motor seizing. The wiper stalk got hot to the touch.

I too did not notice any other permanent damage, nor a source for the smell, but god damn, it was brutal.
