Just looked at a 94 e320

Just came back home from a test drive after giving a 94 e320 a spin. The car had 140k and the guy wanted 4300 for it off craigslist. Car was immaculate on the outsidd and good condition on the inside. However the center vents did not work for the heat or ac just the side vents. Therer was an oil leak which looked to be coming from the rear main seal. The suspension was completrly detrriorated as was the main engine harness.

One thing i noticed was that while the brakes were pressed and you shiftrd from park to drive to reverse there was a humming loud noise from the transmission. Even while driving and putting load on the tranny it made the whine. I didnt even bother to give the guy an offer. Its going to be tough to find one in good shape.

The price is too high for that kind of condition.
Do not rush into a purchase. The repairs can cost an arm and a leg.
Find one with service records and with a replaced harness.
Good luck

You are absolutely right. This car drove worse than my buddys 93 silverado with270k miles of construction worker use. That harness alone is 1000 bucks and i dont even want to think about replacing a transmission thats probably more costly than buying a whole different w124. I have been looking hard for a w125 or w201. Not having much luck most of them are junk. To find one with maintanance records would be very ideal. I love these cars i had a 91 300d that i loved driving. Once i find one im going to drive it forever lol.
