1995 e320 wagon
sunroof question

hi all first post. just picked up a 1995 e320 wagon 3 days ago for pretty cheap. Got it for 900 bucks its inspected and runs great other than a oil leak that makes it a bit stinky but for 250k i guess its aloud too. Anyway this may seem stupid but how far open does the sunroof open. Mine pops open in the back a few inches but doesnt slide back like ones i have seen on newer cars. is this what its supposed to do or is not opening all the way.

How are you pushing the switch? If you're pushing up against the switch, it will only pop the back. If you take the front edge of the switch (closest to the windshield) and pull back towards the trunk, it will slide the sunroof.

Sunroofs in these car do two things - tilt in which the back of the sunroof flips up a few inches and they also slide back. It sounds like you have only the tilt feature still working in your car.
