Cruise Control Amplifier
Cruise Control Amplifier
Hello everyone,
Some of you might know me from other Mercedes boards, I've not been on here in a while.
I've recently gotten into repairing cruise control amplifiers for our beloved 126,124,201,123,etc series cars. I've got a pretty high success rate with the repairs I've conducted so far, 27 as of today.
If anyone on here is interested I'd be more than happy to help you through some troubleshooting and if needed offer my repair service.
I think I'm fairly reasonable on my price which is $50 + $6 for return shipping, plus sending me in your old unit as a core.
Drop me a PM or email me (jamesdean59@gmail.com) and I'd be happy to help!
-Kris

I've never had the opportunity to examine one of those modules before.
According to the Mercedes EPC, its "cruise/idling control." If the cruise is out I'd check everything that feeds that unit prior to suspecting the unit. Bad actuator (if the system uses one) or bad wiring or fuse.
That unit itself is nearly $1000 from the dealer.
I'd be happy to take a look at one if you've got a spare, maybe I can determine something. If its anything like its predecessors, its most likely failing capacitors and/or solder joints.
My experience and success is from the 1982-1994 14-pin VDO cruise units. I've not explored into anything much newer, but I'd be happy to examine one should anyone have a spare.
