Climate Control - HELP

Re: 1992 MB 300d
I am restoring my cherished MB, starting with the Climate Control (CCU). Have replaced the Auxiliary Water Pump as it was dead. Also replace the CCU console with a Programa reman. The blower fan was removed and serviced; works just fine. All fuses were checked and found to be OK. Now the aux water pump turns on when the ignition is on, but the CCU is still inoperative; both new and old.
I have not tackled the blower control unit. What is next?

I have found both Bosh and Programa to be wholly lacking with customer support and helpful installation procedures. Is there a good manual or on-line source for CCU diagnostic procedures?

garvism -

I have the MB climate control troubleshooting guides, but they are too large (16MB) to attached in the forum. PM me with an email address that can handle the file attachments and I will send them to you.

That being said, I'll give you the same advice I give everyone with a large scope electrical non-op - replace (don't just check) the fuses involved and clean the fuse spring contacts. Corrosion with the old tin/lead fuses is terrible!

For you, that would be fuses A, D, 5, 7, and the big 30 Amp strip fuse for the blower motor (you can just inspect this one, but make sure the Philips screws are tight).

Good luck.
