starting problem 300E24 1992
Sorry if you've had this before but I'm a new boy here.
Very hot day last month I filled up with fuel & drove 20mile home. I noticed idle speed was high (1100rpm), stopped & restarted the engine. Starting was very difficult & next day when cold it eventually coughed into life with continuous cranking. Any throttle would kill it until it had idled about 30secs. & stabilised. I replaced the OVP relay (twin fuse type - old one single fuse) & have run it around for a couple of days. Hot starting has improved but cold starting not much better. Idling speed is still high. On the road it runs as allways. Mileage 147k & engine mechanically sound.
Also originally I stupidly thought relay 2018210047 was the OVP. I took off the top & sprayed it with switch cleaner; it now buzzes continuously unless I'm using the indicators or hazzard flasher. Everything else works, including the instruments. I've checked (meter) fuses 5,6 & 9 - all O.K.
I don't think the buzz is connected to the first problem but could be wrong.
Help please, Dave.
