1990 300 te cruise control kicking my ****
Hello all,
I am about at my wits end with this cruise control. What it is doing is surging once or twice a second. It will only stay set for a few seconds before it shuts it's self down. One of several times I r&r the servo I left a mounting bolt loose and it had lots of wiggle. This caused it to work pretty well. The free play was taking up the jerking around. I have replaced the servo twice, computer twice, ohm checked the steering column switch, replaced the speedo head pickup, tried several computer plug in modules and even cracked one open and replaced the resistors with pots. It is like the servo amp(computer) is getting noise from somewhere and feeding it into the servo. Any ideas? btw, this is the electric system not vacuum.

It is interesting that this and a number of cruise controls do not work if tail light bulbs are burned out. The switch was tested. I have a control module on the way with the capacitors replaced.
