Is the 500E prewired to add a CD changer?
Hi everyone, I'm new here...My dad gave me his '92 500E that has 36,000 miles on it. I'm driving the car cross country, and I'd like to put a CD changer in it before I start my trip. Is the car prewired so that I can connect an aftermarket cd changer to the stock head unit, or can you only connect a mercedes benz cd changer to the head unit? If so, is there any particular brand that the head unit only connects to(ie. my old Acura Legend would only allow an Alpine to connect to the head unit). Thanks, I appreciate any suggestions and recommendations!

08 Lexus GS350 AWD. 08 Lexus RX350 AWD - wife's. 94 MBZ E320 - still have it.
My '94 E320 was pre-wired for a CD (had a cable in the trunk). It did take a $270 Alpine 6-disk changer with a $50 cable adapter. If you have a cable in the trunk check car stereo places for the right unit. I bought mine at "Hear No Evil" on Salem, OR.

All 500Es should be pre-wired for the factory 10-disc changer.
And, btw, your old man is quite a nice fella...mine gave me a 69' Beetle to drive around first !!!
