1994 E420
New Benz owner! Antenna issues...
I recently picked up my first Mercedes, a 1994 E 420 with 124,000 miles in all stock but beautiful condition.
Anyway I love the look, and it looks so much better without the long *** antenna sticking up whilst I drive down the street. Not to mention that annoying sound when I turn the car on and off. Unfortunately I don't have the adjusting switch in this model. However I don't ever listen to the actuall radio I just plug an iPod into the tape player.
Please forgive my absolute lack of knowledge when it comes to cars, but is there a simple easy way I could disconnect the power going to the antenna?

Yeah unplug the power lead into the antenna in the trunk - but it it wont ever go up then until you put it back.
You could try fitting a switch between the HU and the antenna so you can elect to put it up when you want.
