alarm on/off

sometimes i have heard my some faint tickin noise from the passenger footwell. The alarm had gone off but no horn had sounded. the only thing was that my lights were flashing which is very common. How do i switch it from silent to noisy? I use to have a honda ccord that had the same problem and all i had to do was reconnect some wires that were disconnected. is there a switch cable that controls the alarm horns?

Thanks!

As you may know, the sound of the alarm is not generated by your regular horns... it uses a separate "alarm" horn . Looks like you're not getting power to it or the ground is bad.

First find the alarm horn in the engine compartment and check to see that both wires are attached. One is brown (which is ground) and the other is black with yellow stripe and pink dots (positive).

If they look in order, test continuity from the brown to a good ground location in the vehicle using a digital volt meter. If continuity is good, check continuity from the black/yellow/pink wire to the other end of that wire which is on one of the 2 plugs on the alarm module. Can't remember if that wire is on the smaller or bigger plug.. but there is only one with that color combination. You'll probably need the DVM and a long wire in order to test this one.

Yes,

I assumed that you already knew that based on your first post.
