post headgasket issues

Hi Forum,
Hope you are all very well......

I recently had a headgasket job done on my 1993 Euro 200E,
M111 engine.
On getting the car back from my mechanic, I noticed that there seemed to be a slight sluggishness under acceleration and also a strange whining noise at the same rate as the engine as I accelerate......... I took the car on a 2hr drive at 70-80mph on the motorway and had no other problems.

Does anyone know of any potential post headgasket problems, or adjustments that need to be adressed.
Or whether it could be a timing, fuel injection issue or ECU problem??

I am taking the car back to have the head re-torqued and a check up soon, but I would love to have some info to work with my mechanic on this.....

Any ideas or info etc. would be greatly appreciated.

all the best

Jon.
