Urgent help 94 E320 wont start but cranks
Everything has been great with this now 73k mile 1994 E320 coupe. Got a car wash yesterday drove it to two places parked and restarted the car with no issues then drove home and parked it. Later last night tried to start it and it cranks, battery is strong everything works but it will not start. While in the start position all the idiot lights go on, even the fuel reserve light, and stay on with exception to the SRS light which eventually turns off. I don't recall if this is normal operation or if something is amiss.
I tried to start it in Neutral, nothing. I got out of the car and locked and unlocked the doors a few times and still no difference.
I looked at the usual suspects, the OVP and the fuel pump relay. The OVP looks to be new. Genuine Mercedes, with one 15 AMP fuse, PN: 000-540-67-45, on the side 89-7219-000 made in Hungary. Pins are numbered 1-9, so I don't even know how to test it since all the tests I have seen seem to refer to a different relay.
The Fuel pump relay 003-545-56-05 (05-3410-21) is original (I think) since it has 4493 stamped into it. I assumed it was the problem so I opened it up, and it looks like new, no cracked solders, nothing amiss.
So I am at a loss....what can be the problem? When I put the key in the start position am I supposed to hear the fuel pumps (I hear nothing)? I have only owned the car for a little more than a month so I don't recall all the regular sounds and lights that I should be seeing.
Thanks.

The black relay 003-545-56-05 marked KLI/KD is not the fuel pump relay.
It's the Aircon (Klima) and Kickdown (KD ) relay...nothing to do with the starting circuit.
Your fuel pump relay is green with a 30A fuse on top and may be part # 001 542 9619. It also controls the auxiliary fans.
I think it's designated K27 on the schematic and is behind the battery.
Test it by jumpering between Terminal 87 ( pin 7 ) and Terminal 30 ( pin 8 ) of the fuel pump relay. This bridges the contact.
If the pumps start then the relay is defective.

Update:
Today was the first nice day in a long time temperatures went close to 60. So I opened the hood, disconnected the battery and got a large fan to blow into the engine bay for several hours.
After that it started.
Case in point, water from the under carriage car wash must have shorted the crumbling wire harness.

Not sure about that OVP.
Is that a single fuse on top ???
Suprised if it is. Would have thought by your year they would have changed them.
If so buy a new two fuse OVP.
Single Fuse are older model and have a reputation for failing inside (solder joins etc).
Later model came with two fuses. But make sure it's an MB or reputable brand !
