1995 e420 coolant question
Hey all, I know this is a rookie question but...
I recently blew a heater core hose, and have acquired a replacement. I'm going to be installing it tomorrow, but what I'm wondering is if it is safe to use some regular green Prestone coolant in it for a few weeks. I know it calls for MB OEM coolant, but the hose pretty much wiped me out, and I have absolutely no capital with which to buy the rather spendy MB stuff until the start of next term (I am a student, and am usually broke by the end of each term). Pitiful, I know. I'm hoping I can get away with running the cheap stuff for 3 weeks, then do a coolant flush and then fill it with the proper coolant, but on the other hand, do not with to risk damaging my motor, so I figured I'd seek out some feedback from those more experienced than myself. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
