400E SLS Suspension Self-Bleeding?

Hey guys today I FINALLY finished replacing the nitrogen accumulators on my 400e. I simply unbolted the passenger-side sphere banjo bolt and drained about 36oz of fluid, then replaced both spheres. I'll skip explaining what a hellacious experience that was. Now with everything back together and running I noticed that the reservoir level really didn't drop. The car seems to be sitting lower than usual, not dangerously low, but low. I added about 5oz of fluid to the reservoir which puts it in spec on the dipstick. So now I've got roughly 30oz of fluid that magically doesn't need to go back in?? I was under the impression that this system was self bleeding am I wrong? This project has been quite a headache, but the finish line is in sight! Any help is appreciated!

One other note: During the repair, I had to remove the pressure line to the driver-side strut. Perhaps theres air trapped in it now I'm not sure. I'm thinking my next option is to SLIGHTLY crack that line open at the top of the strut while the system is running and see if i can get some air out. Ideally without blinding myself :P
