Engine too hot even during driving
took my car to Mercedes so called specialist, chaged back flow valves and fuel filterstiil no good. Then it was considered that oil pressure would drop to low at idle, changed oil pressure sensing unit, now pressure shows 3 when driving and 2 at idle,
however engine has cut out once since then. I am sure it has something to do with heat as in all cases it has happened when engine is hot. So far all cost have been c$1950 and still not sure if fixed. Prior to changing the above i changed the oxygen sensor and alternater. The diagnostic computer shows nothing wrong with my car in fact seems to drive better than ever apart from the concern with cutting out at idle, any more suggestions?

Engine too hot usually caused by Damaged Thermostat, Fan Not working properly (visco and aux fan), water pump, bad radiator, and blockage in the water jacket or water lines circulating the engine. A leak in your intake, causing hot air to be drawn inside the engine will also cause overheat.
Suggestion:check the visco fan first, if the engine is hot, it should be tough to turn it, if not change it. Better idea is to install an electric fan like I did, I use powercool (japan Made), you can also use flex-a-lite (flex-a-lite.com) install with pull mode when replacing. This will make the engine quieter and more power!! and very good in traffic (no more overheat).
Make sure you use a radiator coolant, beause rust can block the water lines inside the engine, coolant can lubricate the water pump ,and keep temperature stable. Then check thermostat, you can change to 60degreesCelcius Thermostat, so it'll open sooner , then check the water pump.

AsianMBMania, I agree with you. (kamu tinggal dimana ?)
But it's hard to get thermostat with 60 degrees celcius. Mine used 72 degrees celcius thermostat.
