Speedometer Cable Removal
Hello again :-) I have fixed my HVAC issues, power seat issues, and telescoping steering wheel. Now trying to fix my speedo on my 1992 W124
Instructions say to use a 10MM socket to remove the bolt that holds the speedometer cable underside the car. Problem I have is I can't get a ratchet in there no matter what length extension I use. I can get the socket on with NO extention but then there isn't enough room to ratchet it in either direction. I feel like a complete idiot... what the heck am I missing here???
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Why are you removing the cable?
Usually doesn't go bad, just unscrew from the back of the speedo and send the speedo out for repair.
Gears typically break in the speedo with age.

The speedo was actually good. I took a trip to Sear and got a ratcheting wrench with a neck that adjusts to different angles and I was able to get it off. Cable is replaced and speedo is working again :-) Just finished
