Upper engine harness replaced.

Upper engine harness replaced.
My car was running just fine, but it had the original biodegradable engine harness from 1992. I noticed the prices for the harnesses dropped about $200 as of January 1, 2014, so I decided this would be a good time to take care of this upgrade before it became an issue.
The harness install is quite simple. I removed the air box and took a few pictures of the existing harness routing and went to work. I removed the old harness and the new one went in very easily.
Afterward I inspected the old harness and I cold feel the insulation cracking when I bent the old wires. I cut the outer insulation off to inspect the inner insulation and here is what I found. I would recommend inspecting your harness to see if it's original and replace it if so. I paid $361 shipped for the new 500E upper harness with a build date of 4/25/212. Thanks go out to the 500Eboard.
