cost of mercedes long term

So I bought a e320 1995 with 53k miles
Paid 4k for it I have done some additions, so all around this car will cost me 7k.
So, what do you guys think my costs will be to own?
Im thinking I could drive this car 5 years and still get 4k for it, so my monthly cost would be 50 bucks and I get a sweet ride and it looks sweet.

I don't think its possible to give a black and white answer to that. Too many variables, how much was it babied before you, what region you're in, what jobs you're willing to do yourself, etc. So far I've spent about 2 grand on non aesthetics since may, and I do all my own work. I sat down and calculated a few months ago how much it would've been at a shop and got a figure of about 11 grand. That was before I changed my water pump. Hope this helps you out.

My thinking is even if we spend average 1500 a year on maintenance, we arent loosing much, compared to buying a newer car since our cars arent depreciating much. So even if the car cost me 120 bucks a month, its not bad because, you really cant get any car for that price. A example would be a new corolla is about 200 a month, plus its depreciating another 200 a month, requires higher insurance, so even if we pay more for gas it is still less than driving a new bottom end vehicle. Agree?

Honestly I'd choose a well done w124 over a lot of cars, both old and new. 53k is pretty low so you'll probably be better off with one as well.

^^ Watch it be a full set of Bilstein HD's and some H&R's with bling wheels to match.

I bought my '87 for $1000 and immediately sunk ~ $200 for fluids and filters, $80 for rear thrust arms & hardware, $120 for front brake pads & fluid, $100 for gaskets, and did all the work for that myself (another $600-800).

I still need to seal up the front timing cover, and replace the distributor cap, plugs, and wires; the front flex disk, and when the time comes in the not too distant future - bilstein HD's all around.

So figure another $1500-2000 if I had the work done by someone else. But probably closer to $1000 for me.

Well I upgraded radio, bought some 17 amg monoblocks, s600 grill, hids with glare shield, I havent lowered it yet but want to get the hr cup kit for it. I have spent about 2k so far so the cup kit with install will take me over 3k. Amg monoblocks have gotten crazy expensive, about 4 years ago I had a chrome pair on my w202 cost me 600 with tires. It took me forever to find a set of 17s with good tires, he wouldnt budge from 700 the I spent 400 on getting them restored. Also some little repairs like headlight switch, ac tune up.

Hi I also have a w124. I got it in non-running condition. To keep it in running condition it would cost me $30-40 and $50-60 to restore it every month. According to my mechanic, he says it's cheaper to maintain a w124 than a honda or toyota.
