280 twincam to W124
I have a 280 twincam engine from W126, is it bossible to install that engine to W124 body?
For example do I have to do any major body modifications like move the firewall or widen the Cardan tunnel(I'm also planning to put the W126 automatic gearbox with the engine).

Since the 104 motor came in the 124 anyways (E320), it will bolt right in. Mercedes even was able to shoehorn the monster 119 motor into the 124 (400E, 500E, E420, E500), so a twincam six isn't anything difficult.

I'm not sure are we talking about the same thing now, because the numbers 110.xxx are molded in the side of the engine block. So according to my knowledge that means that the engine model is 110.
I don't even know manufacturing year of that thing the guy whom I bought it said that he toke it from a early 80's 280S (12 valve + carburettor).
